Fotografen Jon Laytner från Kanada tilldelas Lars Tunbjörk Stiftelses första Arkivstipendium
“Finding Lars' work set me on a path of self discovery, resulting in a deep interest surrounding the camera itself, but more specifically how it can reveal a world beyond what the eye can see. His work shines on the edge of what's possible. I recall my first evening with "I Love Borås", the first of his books I was able to find and my introduction to his work in printed form. I couldn't put it down and eventually fell asleep with it in my arms. It proved to me that the spirit of great photography lives not in any specific subject or technical prowess, but in a feeling. It taught me to lean toward the unknown with a certain intensity and wonder. To discover with the camera, not just record. I carry this curiosity with me wherever I am.”

Stipendiet kommer att användas för en resa till Borås för att studera Lars Tunbjörks kontaktkartor och opublicerade bilder i Borås Stadsarkiv. De kunskaper han får kommer han tillämpa i sin undervisning i analog fotografi och kopiering. Under vistelsen kommer han även själv fotografera en bildserie i Borås.
Stipendiet är på 25 000 kronor och möjlighet till boende i Borås. Lars Tunbjörks Stiftelse samarbetar med Borås Stadsarkiv och Lars Tunbjörk center för Fotografi på Borås Konstmuseum. Projektet kommer att redovisas på Borås Konstmuseum hösten 2026.
Jon Laytner (född 1988) är från Kanada. Han arbetar med analog mellanformatskamera och kopierar sina bilder i mörkrum.
